A section of the ADH NSW program operates through the Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS), which is a child dental grant that provides eligible children and teenagers aged between 2 and 17 up to $1000 for basic dental, capped over 2 consecutive calendar years.
The dental benefit amounts are payable to Dental Practitioners for services rendering and eligibility of the cover are set by the Department of Human Services and not by Australian Dental Health NSW. To be eligible for the CDBS children must:
Be aged between 2 and 17 years on any day of the calendar year Receive, or their family, parent or guardian must receive, certain government benefits (such as Family Tax Benefit Part A) for at least part of the calendar year to be eligible for Medicare.
